How to Configure SMTP Settings
SMTP Configuration Field Descriptions
- Mail Server: Enter the mail server address (for example, mail.yoursitename.com). You can obtain this information from your hosting or email service provider.
- Username/Email: Enter the email address associated with your SMTP account.
- SMTP Secure Method: Select the preferred security protocol for the SMTP connection. Choose STARTTLS or SSL/TLS to encrypt email communication and enhance security.
- Port: Enter the SMTP port number provided by your hosting or email service provider. Commonly used ports are 25, 465 (SSL/TLS), and 587 (STARTTLS).
- Requires Authentication: Select Yes if your SMTP server requires authentication. This allows the application to authenticate using your SMTP username and password before sending emails.
- Log in to the application using valid credentials.
- Navigate to the Settings module.
- Under the Integrations section, click SMTP.
- Enter the required details in the following fields:
- Mail Server
- SMTP Secure Method
- Port
- Username/Email
- Password
- Requires Authentication
- Click the Update button to save the SMTP configuration.
- Click Test Connection to verify that the SMTP settings have been configured correctly and are functioning as expected.
