# Using your own SMTP server for outbound email (New Design)

### How to Configure SMTP Settings
 ### SMTP Configuration Field Descriptions

* **Mail Server**: Enter the mail server address (for example, **mail.yoursitename.com**). You can obtain this information from your hosting or email service provider.

* **Username/Email**: Enter the email address associated with your SMTP account.

* **SMTP Secure Method**: Select the preferred security protocol for the SMTP connection. Choose **STARTTLS** or **SSL/TLS** to encrypt email communication and enhance security.

* **Port**: Enter the SMTP port number provided by your hosting or email service provider. Commonly used ports are **25**, **465 (SSL/TLS)**, and **587 (STARTTLS)**.

* **Requires Authentication**: Select **Yes** if your SMTP server requires authentication. This allows the application to authenticate using your SMTP username and password before sending emails.


1. Log in to the application using valid credentials.

2. Navigate to the **Settings** module.

3. Under the **Integrations** section, click **SMTP**.

4. Enter the required details in the following fields:

   * **Mail Server**
   * **SMTP Secure Method**
   * **Port**
   * **Username/Email**
   * **Password**
   * **Requires Authentication**

5. Click the **Update** button to save the SMTP configuration.

6. Click **Test Connection** to verify that the SMTP settings have been configured correctly and are functioning as expected.
