# Clients:-Why can’t I delete a Client ? I’m getting a big problem “please correct the following error” message ?:(New Design)

You may be having trouble deleting clients in Invoicera because they are associated with an active project or recurring profile. You will get the following error message :

You will need to go to your list of recurring profiles **AND/OR** your list of projects and make appropriate changes first.

1. Recurring profiles need to be **STOPPED** or **DELETED** before you can delete a client associated with them.

2. Projects need to be **UNASSIGNED** from that client or **DELETED** before you can delete a client associated with them.

Recurring Profiles can be accessed by going to the  the Recurring module under the Sales & Billing section.

Projects can be accessed by going to the or Navigate to the Projects & Time section and click on the Project module.
